Aadhar Updation status of ration cards in Jammu and Kashmir ?
The Aadhar Updation status is overall 96 percentage in Kashmir which is quite impressive .
Are people cooperative ?
Yes intially people were a bit hesitant but with the time they understood that without biometric Aadhar Updation they will not get ration card they became cooperative .
How do you see the rice quality provided by the ration depots in Kashmir?
I monitor it every week on Sunday and the rice quality has improved vastly and it is now quite of high quality standards .
A bit on Ration card holders in Kashmir statistics vise ?
We have three categories in this regard . In the poorest of poor AAY they get per ration card 35 kilograms @ 3 rupess KG . In this category we have one lac forty eight thousand Four hundred eleven ration cards consisting of 6.29 lac souls . In second category PHH ( Priority House Holders )that is slightly we have ration card seven lac thirty three thousand four hundred thirty three about 30 lac souls in it .
Then comes the NPHH ( Non Priority House holders ) comprising of middle class in it we have ration cards getting ration without subsidy ,and in this category there are four lac seventy three thousand five hundred thirty two comprising of 20.49 lac souls .
Rich and affluent get ration cards in form of golden cards as adress proff but don't get ration .
There has been constant issue in Kashmir since last decades that rich class also takes undue benefit by having ration cards showing them poor ?
We are having a constant economic audit of families in this regard and looking after it . I have directed my official to genuinely get those who are economically now affluent out of ration cards meant for poor.
What about sugar distribution ?
Sugar is now given to the poorest of poor only . We give them one kilogram per card .
What are current schemes going ?
Ration supply is good . We have sound Gas supply for ten days advance and refresh it daily . We are giving the poor class free ration currently .
What about market checking against inflation ?
We are on regular checks especially mutton dealers and other shopkeeper to check the rising prices .
Isn't there human resource shortage when it comes to all important market checking ?
Yes there is human resource shortage in this regard .
What is your message ?
When ever you go to ration depots as consumer collect the receipts of how much you have paid and how much you have given.
