In an exclusive interview with mirror of Kashmir he talks to Rameez Makhdoomi.
A bit about your early days?
I am from Border District of poonch , Surnakote Tehsil ,village Marhot. I completed my higher secondary from Poonch from Baba Nizamia school. I could not get through my dream of becoming Doctor as I did not get selected in NEET. I was much mentally disturbed but in 2012 I decided to start as education counsellor and I moved from Poonch to Jammu and Delhi . We registered Nizamia consultancy with Ministry of Corporate .We then started our work in Seven sister states of North East , Jaharkhand and also moved to African , SAARC countries . We had just one student in 2012 but within due period of growth we have been able to provide admission to ten thousand students.
How has been this progress possible?
It has not been my alone work. My associates and the colleges I work with along with ministry helped a lot. Despite crisis faced due to Covid, 370 abrogation and other things we did not stop and surged ahead.
How many difficulty you faced in life ?
The family people stopped paying anything after I failed to qualify NEET. I had just two thousand in rupees out of which 1500 I spend . With 500 remaining I decided to take life head on. With due progress I along with two board of directors we started at worth of ten lac as MNC with due advice of Charter accountant . I was inspired by Tata consultancy.
What would you like to say Jammu and Kashmir students calibre?
I had remained intially more focused on North East and other states have but after few years when I came back to give focus on Jammu and Kashmir students I found them facing many problems especially harrasment outside. So Nizamia consultancy took initiative to provide them quality education in different institutions of the country without fear .
I told my colleages we need to give Kashmiri Salt tea and Wazwan to make them feel at home. We saw this year more than one lac students appearing for 12 th class exams and we have limited colleges and universities for them so it a must to provide them quality education in outside institutions.
A general feel has been that in Jammu and Kashmir in name of scholarship the students are often cheated. Your take ?
We at Nizamia Consultancy launched this year a test and selected 165 students for scholarship and provided then the half assistance out of our own profit. Actually, parents and students need to have relevant knowledge of Government scholarships so that they do not fall in trap.
The colleges you partner with ,do you take into consideration their recognition ?
Be it sending students to media, law , science or any other stream the first and foremost thing we do is to check their affiliation with due prestigious institutions of the country.
We do not even do 0.1 compromise on the career of the students.
What are your future plans?
We want to work like OYO who work on other properties similarly we want to make our venture India's biggest education portal wherein students of entire India study. We also plan in year 2025 establish Nizamia International University in Kashmir where all the students of globe can study .
How has been parents support been ?
Parents have given us much support and we are highly thankful to them .
